Orientation Team

The Orientation Team (OTeam) works together to welcome new students and their guests as they come to campus

The OTeam is made up of Orientation Leaders, Orientation Specialists, Student Coordinators, Graduate Interns, and professional staff members. They all work together to educate new students and their families, create a welcoming environment, and assist students in their transition to Bloomington. Recruitment and selection varies for each position.

OTeam Breakdown

Orientation Leaders

are ambassadors who teach students and their families about IU resources, opportunities, and expectations to ease the transition to IU.

Orientation Specialists

serve as the frontline office staff assisting students and their families by sharing their knowledge of IU and the orientation process.

Student Coordinators

have completed at least one summer with the OTeam and are responsible for recruitment, selection, training, and in-program peer supervision of Orientation Leaders.

Graduate Interns

are involved in the supervision, planning, and implementation of a variety of orientation and transition programs.
