IU Bucket List: Your Must Do at IU

The IU Bucket List is a list of events and places to explore before you graduate from IU.

New students receive a copy of the IU Bucket List at New Student Orientation that they can update as they complete items.

  • Ask a librarian at Wells Library for help with a research project
  • Attend a culture center event
  • Attend Little 500 men’s and women’s races
  • Cheer on the Hoosiers at a free athletic event
  • Connect with a professor outside of the classroom
  • Create or join a Rec Sports Intramural Team
  • Dance all night at IU Dance Marathon
  • Dance to international music at the Lotus World Music and Arts Festival

Complete these Bucket List items during

New Student Orientation!

  • Go on a late night tour of campus
  • Dip your feet in Showalter Fountain
  • Have lunch along the Jordan River
  • Score some free breadsticks
  • Shake the hand of the Herman B Wells statue
  • Snap a photo in front of the Sample Gates
  • Lie on the ground and watch the lights change on the side of the IU Eskenazi Museum of Art
  • Experience an opera at the Musical Arts Center
  • Explore the Bloomington Farmers' Market
  • Explore the Tibetan Buddhist Monastery
  • Find your favorite brunch location
  • Find your favorite ice cream shop
  • Hear a lecture or see a show at the IU Auditorium
  • Hike around Griffy Lake
  • Kiss someone special in the Rose Well House at midnight
  • Look at the stars from the Kirkwood Observatory
  • Order freshly baked cookies during a late-night conversation with friends
  • Paint the Jordan Avenue bridges for a special event
  • Paint your face for an IU basketball game
  • Play Frisbee in Dunn Meadow
  • Relax near the fireplace in the IMU
