Getting Started and Fees


NSO Family

A non-refundable Orientation and First Year Experience fee, set by the Indiana University Board of Trustees, covers costs for NSO, Welcome Week, and FYE services and programs throughout your first year. This fee will be assessed on your first IU tuition bill after you attend NSO. 

You do not need to pay it up front, but you are responsible for the fee once you reserve your space at NSO. The fees through Fall 2019 admits are as follows:

  • Freshman Domestic Student: $210
  • Transfer Domestic Student: $189
  • Freshman International Student: $233
  • Transfer International Student: $212
  • Parents/Family: NSO participants can bring up to 2 guests with no additional charge. The fee for additional guests is $10 each.
