Attend your week of online orientation events
When you make your NSO reservation, you’ll secure a time for your advising appointment and your student group meeting. During the week of these meetings, you’ll also have access to a variety of live sessions to introduce you to resources at IU and show you what it means to be a Hoosier.
Your scheduled advising appointment and student group meeting are the anchors of your week. These two required meetings will prepare you for life at IU in different ways. Build the rest of your week’s schedule by selecting additional live sessions that fit around those meeting times.
Here’s what you need to know to participate in your week of virtual orientation events.
- At your confirmed student group meeting, you’ll learn about campus and meet other new Hoosiers. It will last about an hour and will be led by an Orientation Team member—a current IU student who will help you throughout the NSO program and as you start your first year at IU.
- At your academic advising appointment, you’ll meet with an advisor to plan your schedule for your first semester at IU.
- In the NSO live sessions, you and your family can learn more about housing, dining, health and wellness, safety, and more.
- All times are noted in Eastern Time Zone.
