Alpha Lambda Delta
Alpha Lambda Delta, The National Honor Society for First-Year Success, recognizes and encourages superior academic achievement among students in their first year in institutions of higher education. They provide engagement, leadership, and service opportunities, assisting students in recognizing and developing meaningful goals for their unique roles in society.
To become a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, you must meet the following requirements:
- Enrolled full-time at Indiana University
- Earned a 3.5 grade point average or higher during at least one semester of your freshman year

Phi Eta Sigma
Phi Eta Sigma encourages and rewards scholastic achievement, and promotes leadership, public service, and the personal and professional development of its members. Phi Eta Sigma’s national scholarship program awards approximately $300,000 each year to members of its chapters across the country.
To become a member of Phi Eta Sigma, you must meet one or more of the following requirements:
- Earned a grade-point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale at the end of any full-time curricular period
- Received a class rank in the upper 20 percent of their class
- Enrolled in a normal academic load acceptable toward a bachelor's degree
