Need help finding a class? Trying to figure out the bus schedule? Just want a bit of encouragement?
IU Guides can help. During the first two days of fall classes, these IU staff members, faculty members, students, and alumni—whom you can identify by their eye-catching signs and shirts—will be stationed throughout campus to help you adjust to your new home.
Volunteer to Be an IU Guide
Give new students a warm Hoosier welcome by volunteering to be an IU Guide. All you need is enthusiasm, a desire to help, and an IU username and passphrase so you can sign up.
Two IU Guides will be stationed at each of several campus locations on the first two days of fall classes, in 60- or 90-minute shifts between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. (We recommend arriving 10 minutes before your shift starts.) To make it easy for you, FYE team leaders will give you campus maps and any other materials you may need.
Volunteers can sign up the summer prior and more information will be included with registration.
