Sustain-Ability

Tour Bloomington’s new ecovillage, try a delicious vegan reuben from The Owlery, learn about IU’s campus gardens, and volunteer with the Hoosier-to-Hoosier sale. Explore your new town while learning how to bike safely in it. Most of all, meet new people . On this IUBeginnings trip, you will do all these things and more as we learn about the many sustainability opportunities on campus and around Bloomington. With Sustain-Ability, you’ll gain an invaluable familiarity with the town’s organizations, bike lanes, restaurants, and people.

Through participation in Sustain-Ability you will gain a better understanding of the basic social, economic, and environmental issues that exist beyond the IU campus, make connections with other first year students, and gain insight from student leaders on how to be successful during your first year.

Don't forget to bring your bike from home with you! During the trip we'll spend a day getting around Bloomington the fossil-fuel-free way! If you don't have a bike or you can't bring one, let us know when you sign up so we can arrange to get one for you!
