Please note: We are no longer accepting applications for the Hoosier Link 2014-2015 academic year.

Students must be invited to apply to the Hoosier Link program. To be eligible for the program, a student must:


 

When applying to IU Bloomington, students interested in Hoosier Link should mention "Hoosier Link" in the essay portion to be considered for admission to Hoosier Link.

Students must also score at least the following test scores in reading and writing:

SAT: Critical Reading (460), Writing (460)
ACT: Reading (18), Writing (17)

If a student does not meet these scores, they must take the Accuplacer placement test at any Ivy Tech and test into English 111 to be eligible for admission.

Applications will be available in late February and are emailed to students who are selected to apply. Students must have an application on file at IU Bloomington and Ivy Tech Bloomington to be eligible. A committee of enrollment management staff from both IU and Ivy Tech establishes the standards used in the selection process.

Benchmark timeline

Benchmark 1

Students will be eligible for guaranteed transfer admission to the Indiana University Bloomington campus for the Spring semester of their first year after meeting the following criteria:

  • Complete a minimum of 15 transferable/academic credit hours at Ivy Tech Bloomington in the Fall semester of their first year. (Previous college coursework/credits and Academic Skills Advancement course work will not be counted toward the 15 transferable/academic credit hours.)
  • Achieve a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0, with no grade lower than a C.
  • Maintain a good disciplinary record at both Indiana University Bloomington and Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington.
  • Pass IVYT 110 with a C or higher.

Students who meet benchmark #1 may continue enrollment at Ivy Tech for the Spring semester of their first year. However, they must meet the benchmark #2 standards by the end of the Spring semester of their first year and enroll at IU Bloomington by the Fall semester of their second year.

Benchmark 2

Students who do not meet the above criteria will be offered guaranteed transfer admission to the IU Bloomington campus after meeting the following criteria:

  • Complete a minimum of 26 transferable/academic credit hours at Ivy Tech. (Previous college course work/credits will be counted toward the 26 transferable/academic credit hours.)
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 and achieve no grade lower than a C in all course work of the most current semester of enrollment. (Academic Skills Advancement course work will be included in semester grade review.)
  • Maintain a good disciplinary record at both IU Bloomington and Ivy Tech.
  • Pass IVYT 110 with a C or higher first semester.

PLEASE NOTE: Students interested in majoring in nursing, informatics, or the allied health sciences will want to consider that it may take longer than four years to reach graduation.
